A Journey of Grace and Action. I have walked with Christ since my youth, but my pursuit of holiness took on a new earnestness in November 1991, when I began my journey of sobriety and addiction recovery. For 27 years, I have been blessed in marriage and as a father to two sons. Professionally, I serve as a Physical Education Instructor, the Founder and President of the international public charity, Hope & Hustle Africa Foundation, Inc., and I am a published author.
Throughout my life, I have served the local church as a youth council member, music director, worship leader, and Men’s Fellowship leader. However, after 14 years of active ministry, I realized I was making a dangerous mistake: I was equating my relationship with God to the work I was doing for the church. I was busy, but I was miserable. Led by the Holy Spirit, I stepped down to spend over a decade simply listening.
In that decade of silence, God taught me that true sanctification is built on the willingness to be seen exactly as we are when the Holy Spirit turns His light upon our lives. I learned that real repentance is impossible as long as we are still excusing or ignoring our own flawed character. We cannot be transformed by what we refuse to acknowledge. God’s invitation to 'come and reason with Him' is a call to stand completely exposed before a Father who already knows us, so that we can finally move past our brokenness and into His love—one day at a time."
